If you don’t have any internet to check your BISP 8171 elligibility, just open your SMS app and send your CNIC number to 8171. That’s it. Works on Jazz, Zong, Telenor, and Ufone.

• Benazir Kafalat Program (the main BISP cash payment)
• Ehsaas Kafalat Program (earlier Ehsaas-era beneficiaries)

The Ehsaas portal and BISP portal are the same system. Same link. Same CNIC check and Same 8171 number.

This is the part I’ll explain slowly. Like I’m sitting with you.

Method 1 With Online Portal

1. Open any browser on your phone
2. Type 8171 webportal or type official domain name 8171.bisp.gov.pk in the address bar exactly like this
3. A white box will appear on screen
4. Enter your 13-digit CNIC without dashes and spaces
5. Look at the captcha image carefully and type those numbers exactly showing in image
6. Click the green button: “معلوم کریں”
7. Your result appears within 5–10 seconds

⚠️ One thing every other guide misses: The captcha is case-sensitive. “aB3” and “AB3” are different. Look carefully before typing. This one mistake causes most failed checks.

Method 2 With SMS (Best for Villages)

Open your message app. Type your CNIC number. Send it to 8171.

Reply comes in 30–60 seconds from the official BISP code. The message tells you:

What Your Result Means Explain in Easy Language

People see these messages and panic. They don’t know what try to next. Let me explain in simply.

“Eligible” Your CNIC is registered and your payment is in the system. If you haven’t received an SMS yet about collection, wait a few days. Payments go out in district-by-district phases.

“Payment Sent” Your money has been released. Go collect from the nearest HBL Konnect agent, Bank Alfalah branch, or Pakistan Post office. Bring your original CNIC. Not a photocopy. Biometric verification is required. See my guide on BISP card collection and balance check for the full process.

“Please Visit BISP Office” Good news, actually. Your record exists. But something needs a physical fix. outdated biometric data, wrong mobile number, or an address mismatch. Visit your Tehsil Office soon. Don’t ignore this. Delayed visits can pause your payment.

“Not Eligible” This doesn’t mean permanent rejection. It usually means your PMT poverty score is above the cutoff, or your NSER survey data is outdated. If your situation has gotten worse financially, visit the office and request a new Dynamic Survey. I’ve seen families wait 6 months, update their survey, and then start receiving payments.

“Record Not Found” You’re not in the NSER database yet. You need to register in person at your nearest BISP Tehsil Office. No online registration exists. Processing after registration takes 1–3 months.

BISP & Ehsaas Payment Amounts Latest May 2026 Update

Waiting for payment news is hard. Especially when your family needs it.

Here’s the verified picture for May 2026, based on official BISP data:

The standard Kafalat payment is Rs. 13,500 per quarter. Some beneficiaries are receiving up to Rs. 14,500 in the current May–June 2026 cycle due to updated disbursement amounts.

The Ehsaas web portal shows the same payment data. both Ehsaas Kafalat and Benazir Kafalat beneficiaries check through the same 8171 system.

Don’t Fall for Fake Websites This Section Can Save Your Money

Every month, scammers target BISP families. They build websites that look exactly like the real portal, same colors, same layout. And families who desperately need help give them their CNIC, their phone number, sometimes even their bank details.

The only real website is: 8171.bisp.gov.pk

Every real Pakistani government website ends in .gov.pk that’s the law. If a site ends in .com, .online, .net, .info, .org and claims to be BISP or the Ehsaas portal, it is not official. It is a copy. Close it immediately.

BISP will never:

• Ask you to pay any fee for registration or checking
• Send WhatsApp messages asking for your CNIC photo
• Call you to ask for your OTP or bank PIN
• Allow third-party agents to register you for money

If someone calls you claiming to be from BISP and asks for payment hang up. Report them to FIA Cybercrime at 1991. Or call BISP’s own toll-free helpline: 0800-26477 (free, available 24/7).

The people who most need this money are the same people being targeted. Please tell every family member you know.

NSER Dynamic Survey, Why Your Payment Might Be On Hold

This is the section most people skip. But it matters more than anything else.

BISP’s system is connected to the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER). Your eligibility and payment amount are calculated from your NSER survey data. If that data is 3 or more years old, the system may flag your account for a Dynamic Survey update and in some cases, suspend your payment until you complete it.

If you received an SMS from 8171 saying your survey needs updating, go to your Tehsil Office as soon as possible. Bring your CNIC and your family details.
